Purple Magic
This doll's body is the same as many of my other cord dolls. Her skirt is of freeform crochet using a "magic ball." I tie lengths of yarn about 5 feet long together and crochet every which way, turning when the mode strikes or shape suggests it, and accepting color changes as they come in the magic ball. Part of the challenge is to move the yarn to where you think the colors will look best; occasionally I cheat and cut off if the next piece doesn't work in my current spot, and then pick it up elsewhere.
