Tunie
(14 in/34 cm)
The dress of this doll was initially juts an experiment in what I call "Tunisian Freeform" -- Tunisian style stitches done freeform. I was scrounging in my bag of experiments to find pieces that could become a doll and this one popped out at me as being perfect for a dress. I also found the purple motif that is the center of the head; it was a bit too small so I added a round to it, and the doll was born ... a few cords for legs, shoes, and a bit of hair and she was complete, except for her back side. She is a flat doll with a plain back and book board in the middle to keep her from flopping. She is my second flat doll, Bitsy being the first.
